Gay Scene: A young Russell Crowe promotes an all-boys religious school

Our beloved national treasure, Russell Crowe (who was, actually, born and raised in New Zealand) played a young graduate of Avondale College (a Seventh Day Adventist college based in Cooranbong, NSW, where Lindy Chamberlain lived before and for a while after she spent time in prison for the dingo-death of her daughter Azaria) in this accidentally-hysterical promo clip for the school.

Long before he came into his succulent beefiness, where he leaned forward and read the riot act to Joaquin Phoenix in Gladiator despite being chained spreadeagled in a dungeon to show off what were then the world’s finest armpits, Russell was a pale and skinny tot doing advertorials. Soon after this, he kicked off his cabaret career in Sydney with the stage name Russ Le Roq (hit single: I Wanna Be Marlon Brando).

I’m so happy to have found this bootleg clip (after the jump because it jump starts automatically upon opening and is disturbing the rest of the site) with the audio attached - it’s been removed from the YouTube version which I ran with in this post about the secret federally-funded gay porn archive in Canberra.

Do please see Rusty at his absolute peak, in the clip and pics of him in sweaty after rugby practice then in a bath towel in the gay Australian charmer, The Sum Of Us.
