Artistic Differences: Ari by Marcus Mok

Marcus Mok comes from Singapore and believes that the restrictions on nudity and homosexuality there have influenced the erotic subtleties of his work. In these images, he wraps and unwraps the smoky beauty of Australian aerialist, Ari Levanael.
Much more including Marcus’ reflections on working with Ari, after the jump.

Working with Ari
I first met Ari at my solo exhibition of artistic male nudes “Men of Silk” in Sydney during the 2006 Mardi Gras. His piercing blue eyes, rugged good looks and beautiful symmetrical tattoos instantly caught my attention and I approached him to model for me.
We have since worked on 5 shoots together in the last 4 years in Sydney and produced some really interesting images. The fact that he was an aerial artist made the shoots very exciting. I have always loved working with unusual talents and he totally stepped up to the game.

We have very good chemistry working together and always had great fun doing them. It has always been a collaborative effort with Ari…we are constantly throwing ideas at each other which is fantastic. Ari has a great work attitude and never once complained about anything.
Tough as he looks, Ari is actually a very approachable kind of guy, unless he is provoked, but Ive never seen that side of him so that’s good!

BLEW ME AWAY!!!keep it coming!
